Thoughts on writing, reading, life, and philosophy

If you haven’t read my summaries of the Muse Online Writers Conference, click the “Home” button at the top of this page and go look under appearances. It’s a wonderful conference that is now in its sixth(?) year where you have the opportunity to meet editors, authors, and publishers all online and all for free. Starting last year, the mastermined behind it all, Lea Schizas, also worked with various agencies and publishers to offer pitch sessions in chat, and therefore a written medium many authors find more relaxing…I know I did.

I registered for the very first one just to check it out, and was so impressed that I’ve been going ever since. I also began presenting as of the second year because of a conversation I got into with another presenter who convinced me to do so. If you’ve enjoyed any of my workshops on Forward Motion, I offer an intense focus on a specific area for the Muse week that follows the same concept of hands on as much as possible.

Anyway, enough talk, now is the time for action. If you haven’t gotten around to signing up but were intending to, get it done! If you didn’t know about it, go check it out. Lea has moved to a new home as of this year (at my prompting actually) and so things might not be as polished as she’d hoped, but the structure is more sound and permanent than previous years, so we should have a ball. Here’s the update from Lea, along with the registration link. (Note: if Yahoo doesn’t work for you, Lea’s willing to work it out rather than have you miss the opportunity. At this point, the only connection to Yahoo is an ongoing listserv throughout the year with various presenters and participants talking about all aspects of writing in an informal setting.)

The deadline to register for the Muse Online Writers Conference is August 15, 2010. On August 16 until the first week of September there will be a late registration fee of five dollars.

If you have friends who might be interested in joining us, please let them know that they can register now for free and avoid the late fee.

I want to thank you for your help in promoting the Muse Online Writers Conference.
