Keeping Up to Date
There are several ways to keep up with what I'm doing:
- Writing Blog - My writing blog is where I discuss the process I've taken with various projects: what was difficult, what struck me as I worked, and what amused or inspired me. The posts are separated into novels or topics. Be forewarned that some of the posts may include spoilers.
- Stray Thoughts - My thinking blog, as I am calling it in the sidebar, was originally started for philosophical discussions. Some of the older posts are quite interesting if you'd like to browse. It has been through several incarnations, and now contains a mix of philosophy, amusing stories, book reviews, and links to articles I found worthwhile.
- You can also follow me on Twitter. I usually post original content (non-replies) 2-3 times a day about writing and life.
When the Shoe Won't Fit
My light fantasy short story tells of a girl raised as a fairy child who never fit in but didn't know why. You can read it here in the Aurora Wolf online magazine. Share what you think in the comments below the story.
Curve of Her Claw
Appearing in the Cloaked in Shadow: Dark Tales of Elves anthology from Fantasist Enterprises, Curve of Her Claw tells the tale of a young elf trying to earn a place in the tribal memory. The elves in this dark fantasy, however, have little in common with the tall, beautiful faerie kind who often condemn humanity for brutal natures. These elves make up for their lack of the traditional virtues with a desire to improve themselves, to make their tribes stronger and more wise. A pretty goal, you might think, until you learn just how this can be accomplished.
Fall into a world where beauty is a facade, and one elf is pushed beyond reason to rid herself of the smooth-skinned curse.
Curve of Her Claw is one of many dark fantasy short stories available in Cloaked in Shadow: Dark Tales of Elves published by Fantasist Enterprises, publisher of illustrated fantasy books.
From the Ashes
My science fiction short story tells of a xenobiology graduate student trying to fulfill the final obligations of her degree. Check out From the Ashes and many other science fiction stories in Triangulation 2004: A Confluence of Speculative Fiction, published by Parsec Publications.
